Day 1 at Microsoft

Today was my first day at Microsoft so of course it was going to be an interesting day. I met up with Ben Stone before hand and we went to the reception. Unfortunately our Mentor was preoccupied and we were forced to go and play some video games while we waited.

We started out installing a few programs on the laptops that were provided for us and were introduced to the other staff at Microsoft. After an hour we started to use the programs and learn new things. Before lunch we met some more of the staff and had a discussion about IT and a new program Virtual Earth. We were also welcomed by the Microsoft staff with a few goodies including a T-Shirt, Hat and USB.

Me and Ben then headed towards Hungry Jacks for lunch where I also happened to bump into a couple of friends. After lunch we watched a couple more tutorials and were given the task of trying to replicate another website into a program called Studio 2005.

Time went quickly after that and we soon headed off home. All in all it was a great day and I tried many new things and met many new people.

That was the end to my first day!
